The 2021 League of Legends season is about to begin, and the 2020 Spring Split window transfer officially begins on November 18. With that been said, there are many great players and coaches who will be transferring during this time. Come see which team your favorite player will be transferring to!

Update

  1. Tarzan to LNG.
  2. Deft and Chovy to HLE.
  3. Pobelter joins Team Liquid as a positional coach.
  4. Mata joins RNG as Head Coach.
  5. Rekkles joins G2 Esports as ADC.
  6. SwordArt & Huni reported signing with TSM.
  7. KkOma joins DAMWON Gaming as Head Coach.

Numbers of LPL Players Have Expired Contracts

For all teams, whether LPL or LCK, the end of the World Series is a crucial time to reshuffle the deck each year. Although the transfer period doesn’t officially begin until mid-November, clubs often make all kinds of preparations privately in order to buy the ideal players ahead of time, especially those teams that don’t make it to the Worlds, and they even start building next year’s squad two months in advance.

Let’s look at the LPL first. Remember a while back Tarzan, a well-known LCK playmaker announced on his Facebook page that he would be heading to the LPL. He is now confirmed for the LNG team.

With the exception of Tarzan, all of the turn-back news is largely related to players whose contracts have expired. According to incomplete statistics, 27 big names have entered the free market this year, including EDG’s Scout and Meiko, OMG’s Smlz, SN’s wild-card Sofm, and support Swordart, and most surprisingly, LGD. Until today, the only player who was certain to remain in LGD was Peanut, the other four players had a good chance of entering the free market.

UZI “BACK”!

2020 is undoubtedly a year full of disappointment and pain for the RNG, with the team failing to make it to the World Championships and even failing to make the playoffs in the summer, which has never happened in the past few years. The reason for such a big change is closely related to the retirement of the core ADC player Uzi.

Tabe, as RNG support in the S3 season and the current RNG head coach, feels Uzi’s retirement even more deeply. In his opinion, Uzi is an indispensable part of the RNG, and his role in the team is much more than just ADC.

UZI himself also responded on streaming, he does want to come back to play, but there are too many factors to consider in his comeback, so he will focus on streaming for a short period of time and adjust his health first.

Surprisingly, just before the transfer period was about to begin, the already confusing transfer rumors suddenly included exciting news that Uzi might actually come back next year. In the early morning of November 8th, a DOTA2 community user posted that nearly half of the teams in the LPL are discussing with Uzi about his comeback, and some of them are even willing to offer 9-figure(RMB) contracts, so many people think that Uzi’s return is a foregone conclusion.

LCK re-creates the “Battlestar Galactica”

Although the transfer period may seem peaceful on the surface, the reality is that there is already a lot of excitement among the teams and players. Take the four most familiar regions, for example, I wonder how many viewers are keeping their eyes on the movements of the star players. This year’s personnel changes are undoubtedly exaggerated, with many established players in the LPL becoming free agents, Langx and San Guns likely to enter a championship-winning team next year, and the North American LCS and European LEC competing for the top pair of Cs in Perkz and Rekkles.

LCK players collectively enter the free market, the network is naturally full of rumors, but it seems that only T1 is really doing something. Just the day before yesterday, T1 officially announced that they have signed former DRX support player Keria.

According to a reliable source, Keria’s signing fee set a new record for the Korean “support position” and may reach nearly 10 million RMB. What’s even more interesting is that this is just the first step T1 is taking this winter, and their goal is to buy all the best players they can get.

After the successful signing of Keria, T1’s next goal is obvious: they will definitely try to sign Nuguri and look for a replacement for Cuzz on the market. If the “Battlestar Galactica” is really successful, then T1 could be back in the LCK next year. In fact, if you look at the history of League of Legends teams over the years, the clubs that have attempted to build the Battleship have all failed without exception, but T1 management’s approach is understandable, as the team hasn’t played well in the past few years, and Faker’s contract will expire in the winter of 2021, so it’s likely that next year will be Demon King’s last year.
